Talk to your cats before it’s too late!

JJ is a pervasive developmental delay under the autism spectrum with a mild speech delay. He goes to a special preschool for disabilities and has an ESE(exceptional student education) teacher who is very good. JJ has made great strides with an award in speech; however, he does tantrum. His tantrums can be long and disruptive so, after taking him to a specialist, he has been prescribed medicine which he will start soon. I’m happy to report his behavior has improved with better behavior at school than at home even. He has yet to be fully potty trained and we are working hard at that. He is five and hopefully will be ready for kindergarten next year.

After seeing a TV show about an autistic boy who gains a baby sister, I get a clearer understanding of what is involved.  Alot of help is needed in the interaction but it is possible for the baby and the boy to have a good, healthy relationship.

Because of my heart condition, my husband and I have decided not to have more children, but we are interested in getting a dog or a cat.  We are trying to foster a love for animals in JJ.  When we dogsit we try to teach JJ patience with the dog and how to pet, approach and generally care for the dog so that he is prepared for one of his own.

This comes courtesy of some alert soul who recorded Oprah when she had Quincy Jones as a guest. The song is “Moody’s Mood for Love” from Q’s Juke Joint (great album!). QJ put together some incredible voice talents - Brian McKnight, Patti Austin, and Take 6 - for this song.

JJ’s Spooky House

Here is JJ’s latest creation - his very own “spooky house.” (Click the link above to see).

JJ likes to draw using Flash. He drew the house. His dad added the pumpkin and the ghost.

Guess who did the voice?
